Pi 'diggers' anxiously waiting for virtual currency to have a price

Many people "mining" Pi in Vietnam expect the virtual currency to be put into use after June 28 and cost from a few dollars to thousands of dollars.

In an announcement on June 21, the Pi Network development team promised to launch the official network (mainnet) on June 28. "The network is making steady progress towards the mainnet transition around Pi2 - June 28," the announcement read.

June 28 is also the birthday of the richest billionaire in the world, Elon Musk. Many people even hypothesize that Tesla boss is the mysterious figure behind the Pi Network project.

From the night of June 27, the Pi community in Vietnam has been anxiously waiting for Pi Network to enter a new phase. Many people who claim to be shop owners and business people announce that they will accept Pi as soon as this coin can be exchanged, even though it is illegal to use virtual currency as a means of payment in Vietnam. the law.

Huynh Tan (HCMC) said he is one of those who expect Pi to have a price, instead of zero as it is today. He installed the application for nearly three years, there is almost no day without going into the application to "click the lightning", ie access the Pi Network, press the lightning icon to take attendance, from which the number of Pi in the account will automatically increase. up.

"The project has really launched. In the near future, each Pi costs thousands of USD, what will you buy first?", member Tuan Khang asked a question on the Pi Network group with more than 100,000 members. Khang's post attracted more than three hundred comments. Besides the idea that the price of thousands of dollars is impossible, many people share their intention to buy a house, buy a car, give money to everyone after selling Pi.

"I joined when the project was still in the beta stage, introduced to earn digital money without losing anything. Now that the project is about to enter the official stage, the most I hope is to be able to exchange Pi for money or something," Tan said. He does not believe that Pi is worth thousands of dollars, but only hopes for a few dollars or can be exchanged for goods.

"Pi Network has 100 billion dong of Pi, so a thousand-dollar price is very unlikely. However, this is a consensus price among owners, so it can be any number," he said.

However, for the wishes of players like Tan to come true, it is necessary that Pi owners can transfer this virtual currency to each other. Since the end of last year, Pi Network claimed to have launched the mainnet, but divided into two phases: closed network and open network. In particular, the closed network is transactions within Pi miners with each other, while the open network can be exchanged with other digital currencies. To date, Pi owners have not been able to do anything with their Pi.

According to Phien Vo, the community administrator who mined Pi more than 130 thousand members, in order for the project to enter the next stage, it is important to need KYC, which is to verify the identity of the owner. "When mass KYC is successful, the next steps can be carried out quickly," said Mr. Phien.

In last week's announcement, the development team claimed to have KYC for half of the users. The mechanism of this project is that the person who gets KYC first will authenticate the latter. The highest KYC speed in this network is around 90k people per day. The project has also claimed to attract more than 35 million users around the world.

However, many people also doubt the ability of the Pi Network project on time, or the valuable Pi coin.

"Their statement is not certain, just generally the mainnet around June 28. They promised the same at the end of last year, but so far nothing new," said Anh Minh, a person. peach Pi, said. In addition, on Pi's information sites such as Telegram, Twitter, the project did not have any announcements on June 28. This move is considered unusual, because most cryptocurrency projects are constantly informing users during important periods.

In fact, in the past half year, the Pi Network project has made a number of adjustments such as reducing the speed of users receiving Pi, requiring the lock of existing Pi numbers, or implementing KYC on a large scale. Users can also transfer Pi to each other, but only on the test network with the "virtual" Pi number provided by the project.

Up to now, the amount of Pi that users "mined" on the mobile application has not been able to put on the official network or have any exchange value.
