Potential applications of blockchain in defense

Experts suggested that blockchain can be applied to prevent network attacks, manage automated systems, logistics, and secure information transmission, in a seminar on September 28.

nformation stated in the seminar "Potential application of blockchain technology in the field of military - defense" organized by Command 86. Opening the seminar, Major General Tong Viet Trung said that blockchain technology is becoming a research trend for potential applications of many industries because of the advantages of data governance integrity, transparency and high trust.

This data governance capability is considered an important factor in piloting research and implementing e-government models in many countries around the world. Many studies have shown the important role of this technology in the field of military and defense, so the application of blockchain technology has become a common goal of the militaries of some countries around the world.

Blockchain is a community-managed ledger technology that ensures cryptographically secure transmission and access, allows for consistent data storage, and prevents attempts to change data or commit rejection. Since its inception in 2008, the technology has upgraded from blockchain 1.0 to blockchain 2.0. Currently is blockchain 3.0 - the era of comprehensive blockchain technology application. In the context of the changing world situation, science and technology are the foundation for building a modern army. Therefore, the most advanced achievements of technology, such as blockchain, should be applied in the military and defense fields.

At the scientific conference, Mr. Phan Duc Trung - Standing Vice President of Vietnam Blockchain Association also gave a presentation on the application of blockchain technology. Trung said that blockchain can be applied in the military in four ways: preventing defense cyberattacks, managing automated systems, securing information transmission systems on the battlefield, and managing supply chains. logistics.

Many countries around the world have improved technology in the direction of optimizing information flow and interaction between military levels and units, but also ensuring transparency and data integrity. Most soldiers today are proficient in the use of devices, with commanders watching real-time streamed video of the combat space. Logistics and supply chains in the military are also being coordinated and managed by a digital technology consortium. Future technologies such as big data (Big Data), cloud computing (Cloud computing) join the foundation of many defense cybersecurity systems globally.

Mr. Phan Duc Trung said that major countries such as the US, Russia and China are studying to use blockchain to protect defense supply chains or set up research labs for the purpose of blockchain communication systems.

In Vietnam, the application of blockchain in the military - defense sector can help detect unauthorized intrusions into the network, monitor infrastructure, manage supply chains, logistics, and secure relevant information. Communication between units is securely encrypted. According to Trung, units can refer to lessons learned from previous countries, set aside budgets for research activities, and gather human resources in blockchain development and testing into military practice. Vietnam.
